The Men’s Morning of Spirituality of 2011, MMOS VI, will be an exciting time with Most Reverend J. Terry Steib S.V.D., Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis, National Keynote Speaker, Fr. Larry Richards and National Recording Artist, John Angotti.
Bishop Terry Steib S.V.D. will be the celebrant that day for Holy Mass, and as always the men of our diocese look forward to his homily. Each year you are sure to hear the crowd chanting along with the famous line from Bishop Terry, “God is good all the time and all the time God is good.”
John Angotti is no stranger to the Memphis diocese, performing many concerts in the area, and providing music for multiple church events, confirmations, Christmas Mass, Easter, Weddings, Workshops and more. Angotti has toured throughout the United States to many venues and events, including L.A. Congress, NCYC, and Carnegie Hall. John has also traveled Internationally to Australia for World Youth Day and recently just returned from his tour of Ireland. John works with World Library Publications, where you can find a wide variety of Angotti’s music online.
When the news of Fr. Larry Richards came to light, as the keynote speaker for Men’s Morning of Spirituality of 2011, word of mouth shot through the Catholic Diocese of Memphis like a cannon. With the launching of Fr. Larry’s new book, “Be A Man”, many of our local men in the diocese have rushed out to read his work on manhood, spirituality, and responsibility. Fr. Richards’ foundation Reason For Our Hope is based on 1 Peter 3:15: “Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope.” We welcome Fr. Larry Richards to our event and diocese and look forward to his motivational thoughts and insights to make us better men.
The morning will start with coffee, donuts and other edible treats for breakfast in the Family Life Center of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.. We will then file into the sanctuary of Church and begin of morning of sharing and growing in Christ. Dave Kevern, MC, will start the official event, go over some basic concerns and needs of the day, and then introduce our local witness for this years MMOS, Kevin Petitte.
After the local witness, our MC will introduce the main keynote speaker, Fr. Larry Richards, who will be sharing on the topic of “Be A Man.” We will then have time for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (Adoration). We will end the days festivities with Holy Mass, to which afterwards everyone is invited to lunch in the Family Life Center.
